New Liverpool signings Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have cleared up what was misconstrued as a heated row between them earlier this year.

However, one incident in March of this year appeared to show an angry confrontation between the two.

Leverkusen were trailing 3-0 with a man sent off against rivals Bayern Munich in the second half of their Champions League last-16 first-leg encounter.



Star players Wirtz and Frimpong had both been taken off and were sitting on the substitutes' bench when television cameras captured them both making angry gestures while talking.

Neither player held back in their frustration as they appeared to complain about their team's display, while many fans and even some media outlets thought the duo were having a very public disagreement.

Now Liverpool players, the team-mates have clarified that they weren't bickering but in fact in agreement over something that had gone wrong on the pitch.

They were shown the footage in a new video for Liverpool's official YouTube channel, called 'Bezzies', during the Reds' current tour of Asia.

Wirtz pointed out: "This is wrong!

We were down against Bayern in the Champions League and then the head starts [getting frustrated]."

Wirtz, 22, and Frimpong, 24, also discussed how their friendship first blossomed at Leverkusen.

Frimpong revealed: "The first time I met Flo was in the Bayer Leverkusen changing room.

Then obviously I started going to his house, we started to chill and we became friends."

Wirtz chimed in by saying: "For me it's easy [to be friends] because Jeremie is a guy everybody loves.
